The 177.8 GB corpus, published on Hugging Face and built with the mailgen generator, includes 2,227,176 attachments and 3,680,231 business cases, with 87.4% of emails in English and 8.8% in Spanish. They span ten and a\nhalf years, six countries and 29 languages, and they include real\nattachments. Every person, company, authority, law and event is made up. The\ncontent was written by large language models, and the `mailgen` generator\nbuilt the structure around it.\n\nAll figures in this file were **computed from the files themselves**\n(as of 7 Oct 2026). For rule-based emails the `model` field names\nthe worker that handled the case, but no language model was involved. The\n`.ics` files are built by rules, without a model.\n\nThe PDF, DOCX and XLSX attachments are real files. Invoices, quotes, purchase orders and measurement reports are built without a model, with correct totals and the same numbers as in the email text; contracts, terms and conditions, reports and studies get their text from the model. The PNG attachments are charts, trend plots and screenshots rendered by the generator, plus a small number of photos from an image model.\n\n## \n\t\tDownloads\n\t\n\nThe dataset is split into nine zip archives (about 101 GB zipped, about\n187 GB unpacked including the manifests; the `.eml` files alone are 177.8 GB),\nso you can start with a single part and do not need to fetch everything at\nonce.\n\n| Archive | Size | Contents | \n|---|---|---|\n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_01.zip` | 15.88 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 1 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_02.zip` | 16.15 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 2 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_03.zip` | 12.38 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 3 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_04.zip` | 11.39 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 4 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_05.zip` | 11.27 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 5 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_06.zip` | 11.23 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 6 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_07.zip` | 11.08 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 7 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_emails_part_08.zip` | 10.67 GB | `emails/` case folders, part 8 of 8 | \n| `Sinabis_10M_ics.zip` | 971.7 MB | `ics/` : 1,420,492`.ics` files | \n\nThe eight email parts hold the `emails/sNNNNN/` case folders in ascending\norder, each folder with its `manifest.jsonl`. To get the complete tree, unpack\nall archives into the same directory (on Windows and macOS, merge the folders\nwhen asked). Every archive also works on its own.\n\n```\n# try one part first\nhf download sinabis-group/sinabis-10m-synthetic-emails \\\n Sinabis_10M_emails_part_01.zip --repo-type dataset --local-dir .\nunzip -q Sinabis_10M_emails_part_01.zip\n\n# or fetch and unpack everything\nhf download sinabis-group/sinabis-10m-synthetic-emails \\\n --repo-type dataset --local-dir sinabis-10m\ncd sinabis-10m && for z in *.zip; do unzip -q \"$z\"; done\n```\n\n## \n\t\tFolder structure\n\t\n\nIn the repository:\n\n```\n.\n├── README.md\n├── Sinabis_10M_emails_part_01.zip … part_08.zip → emails/\n└── Sinabis_10M_ics.zip → ics/\n```\n\nAfter unpacking all archives into one directory:\n\n```\n.\n├── emails/ 10,088,914 .eml\n│ ├── s00000/\n│ │ ├── 000000000-01.eml\n│ │ ├── …\n│ │ └── manifest.jsonl\n│ ├── …\n│ └── s04040/\n└── ics/ 1,420,492 .ics\n ├── s00000/\n │ ├── 000000001-01.ics\n │ └── …\n ├── …\n └── s04040/\n```\n\nThe `sNNNNN` folders hold 1,000 business cases each and only split the data so\nthat no single folder holds millions of files. They carry no meaning. An\n`.ics` file lives in the folder with the same `sNNNNN` name as its case.\n\nEach `emails/sNNNNN` folder contains a `manifest.jsonl` with one line per\nfile: file, date, sender, recipients, subject, kind (`thread`, `single`,\n`meeting`, `notification`, `lifecycle`), language, topic, business unit,\nsite, project, asset, counterparty, attachments, COVID flag and model.\n\n**Manifest note:** The manifests were not rewritten when the folder was\nreorganised. Besides the 10,088,914 lines for the emails here they still\ncontain 1,236,641 lines for the calendar emails that were moved out, and\n183,851 lines for the `.ics` files of run 2 (`\"format\": \"ics\"`, path\n`emails/sNNNNN/…ics`, the file is now in `ics/sNNNNN/`). Only count lines\nwhose file exists.\n\n## \n\t\tHow everything is linked\n\t\n\n### \n\t\tEmail threads\n\t\n\n```\n<case>-<NN>.eml\n │ └── position in the thread (01, 02, …)\n └───────── 9-digit case number, same for all emails of the case\n```\n\n- All emails of one case share the **same file name prefix** .\n- The headers link the emails: `Message-ID` ,`In-Reply-To` and`References` each point to the previous email.\n- Every email contains the **quoted history** of all earlier emails, either\nin Outlook style or`>` style depending on the sender's mail client, so a\nsingle file already shows the whole thread.\n- 1,166,273 first emails (31.8 % of all first emails) also carry an HTML\nversion (`multipart/alternative` ).\n- 99.7 % of threads have **2 to 8 emails** , 77.5 % have 3 to 6.\n- **Gaps:** In 16,943 threads of run 1 a position is missing, because that\nemail contained a meeting invitation and was moved out with the other\ncalendar emails (not part of this release).\n\n### \n\t\tAttachments\n\t\n\n- Attachments are **embedded in the email** (MIME, Base64), not stored as\nseparate files next to it. 2,075,531 emails (20.6 %) carry at least one.\n- The document is the **source the email refers to** , for example an invoice,\na maintenance report or a contract draft, not a copy of the email text. It\nhas the same language and the same date as the email.\n- No email in `emails/` contains a`text/calendar` part or an`.ics` attachment.\n- Meeting links (`meet.sinabis-green.com` ) and team sites\n(`teams.sinabis-green.com` ) in the text are fictional.\n\n### \n\t\tMeetings and calendar files (`ics/`)\n\t\n\n```\nics/sNNNNN/<case>-<NN>.ics\n```\n\n- A meeting consists of **several `.ics` files** with the same case number:\nthe invitation (`REQUEST` ) to all attendees, acceptances or declines\n(`REPLY` ) to the organiser, and possibly an update or cancellation\n(`CANCEL` ). 322,673 meetings produce 1,269,964 files this way, 3.9 per\nmeeting on average.\n- The remaining 150,528 files are invitations that came up **inside an email\ncase** (110,332 from threads, 40,196 from single emails).\n- Where the files come from:\n\n| Source | Files | Matching email | \n|---|---|---|\n| Run 1, extracted from the `text/calendar` part of the calendar emails | 1,236,641 | not part of this release (the calendar emails were moved out) | \n| Run 2, meeting invitations written directly as `.ics` | 164,238 | none, there never was an email | \n| Run 2, invitations at the end of a thread or single email | 19,613 | `emails/sNNNNN/<same name>.eml` | \n\n- The files use CRLF line endings, `METHOD` ,`UID` ,`ORGANIZER` and`ATTENDEE` , so they can be imported directly into calendar software.\n\n## \n\t\tHow timestamps are created\n\t\n\nTimestamps are set **by the generator, not by the language model**.\n\n1. **Start time:** For each case the generator picks a day between\n1 Jan 2016 and 30 Jun 2026 and a time within office hours. The number of\ncases per year grows with the workforce.\n2. **Thread:** Replies always come after the previous email, with plausible\ngaps between them.\n3. **Time zones:** The`Date` header is in the**sender's local time zone** ,\nincluding daylight saving time (e.g.`-0500` in Houston,`+0900` in Tokyo,`+1200` /`+1300` in Auckland).\n4. **People:** Every person has an employment or business-relationship\nwindow. Someone hired in 2024 does not send emails in 2019.\n5. **Time-bound topics:** Topics such as COVID-19 (2020–21) or the supply\ncrisis (2021–22) only appear in their period.\n6. **Attachments** carry the date of their email.\n\n**Emails per year** (local date of the `Date` header)\n\n| 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | 2026 (to July) | \n|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|\n| 543,229 | 625,167 | 713,299 | 792,423 | 882,984 | 981,067 | 1,067,436 | 1,160,651 | 1,260,646 | 1,344,175 | 717,834 | \n\n## \n\t\tNotes\n\t\n\n- **Fictional, and recognisably so:** All names, companies, addresses, phone\nnumbers, authorities, programmes, laws, politicians and events are made up.\nExternal domains use the reserved TLD`.example` , authorities`*.gov.example` ; phone numbers are in the fictional`555-01xx` range.\nLaws and programmes carry recognisably invented names such as\n\"Windbreak Jobs Act (H.R. 48812)\". Real cities appear as locations only.\n- **Fake filter:** After every generation step a filter replaces real brands,\nauthorities, laws, politicians, celebrities, universities and media, and\nrewrites any real domain to`.example` .\n- **Marked as synthetic:** All 10,088,914`.eml` files carry the header`X-Synthetic-Data: fictional` .\n- **Watchdog:** Every written email was decoded and checked for foreign\nscripts (e.g. Chinese characters in English emails), placeholders such as`[Your Name]` , model artefacts and real names. Failing cases were\nregenerated.\n- **Edge dates:** 3 emails are dated 31 December 2015 (local time) because of\ntime zone shifts at the start of the time span; the latest email is from\n12 July 2026.\n- **Manifest duplicates:** 38 manifest lines are repeated entries from cases\nthat were regenerated; the`.eml` file exists only once.\n\n## \n\t\tMethodology\n\t\n\nThe prompt templates, topic catalogue, world definition and fake filter\n(`prompts.json`, `topics.json`, `world.json`, `guard.json`) were used to\nprompt the LLMs; they are not part of this release. The company world is\ngenerated deterministically from seed 7.\n\n## \n\t\tLicense\n\t\n\nThis dataset is released under **CC BY 4.0**.
