# SemiAnalysis says AI-assisted CUDA tuning reached 2x gains in a month

**The October 20th post cites three successive speedups, but its figures lack the benchmark details needed to compare them with published kernel results.**

## Why it matters

AI-assisted GPU tuning is becoming a real engineering workflow, but optimization speed, kernel runtime and model-serving throughput are separate metrics. The SemiAnalysis figures need benchmark definitions before they can support a broad claim about CUDA gains.

SemiAnalysis says NVIDIA engineers at PyTorch Conference North America described a rapid acceleration in CUDA optimization: a 5x improvement from October 2025 to August 2026 with expert human work, 2x from September to October 2026 with AI assistance, and a further 1.5x in October using AI orchestration and "MegaKernels." The [post on X](https://x.com/SemiAnalysis_/status/2112650722315510047) does not identify the engineers or specify the workloads, hardware, baselines or measurement method behind those multipliers.…
