# Seam Cutter > Source: > Published: 2026-10-25 15:10:19+00:00 25th October 2026 I built this weird and very specific cropping tool - it lets you create a horizontal or vertical cut across an image, then slide the two sides relative to each other. Effectively it lets you crop out a section in the middle of an image. I wanted this because I often use [Tailor](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tailor-screenshot-stitching/id926653095) on my iPhone to stitch several screenshots together into lot long image, but sometimes I find myself wanting to crop out a section in the middle - to redact an irrelevant prompt from a transcript, for example. ## Recent articles - [Battle Drones - a vibe coded RTS with audio-based multiplayer](https://simonwillison.net/2026/Oct/20/battledrones/) - 20th October 2026 - [Hello Python 3.15, goodbye 3.10, and now I can use 3.11](https://simonwillison.net/2026/Oct/12/python-3-15/) - 12th October 2026 - [A new feature for my blog, built using my voice](https://simonwillison.net/2026/Oct/9/built-using-my-voice/) - 9th October 2026 - [Claude Haiku 5.5](https://simonwillison.net/2026/Oct/7/claude-haiku-5-5/) - 7th October 2026
