### SciFin launches with $44M to help revenue teams close the ‘context gap’

[SciFin Tech Inc.](https://scifin.ai/), a company that helps revenue teams converge context across disconnected systems to understand business needs, launched today with $44 million in seed funding.

Altimeter and Madrona co-led the funding round, alongside participation from Foundation Capital and others.

Founder and Chief Executive Mohit Aron (pictured), who co-founded Nutanix Inc. and founded Cohesity Inc., told SiliconANGLE in an interview that he built SciFin to address issues he discovered while scaling enterprise companies. Analysts have access to a lot of data, but management and teams still spend a lot of time sifting through it, passing it between tools and trying to turn it into action.

Aron described the underlying problem as a “context gap” between what is happening inside a business and what its systems actually show.

“There is way too much art and not enough science,” Aron said. At his previous companies, pipeline reviews, forecasting meetings and deal reviews could turn into exercises in reconstructing the state of the business. “We were extracting the news and not changing the news.”

SciFin is designed around what Aron calls “context convergence”: bringing information scattered across systems into one place while continually reconciling it with reality. “We like to say the context has diverged from reality,” he said.

The company is launching with an initial focus on go-to-market teams and revenue, connecting information across finance, accounts, deals, forecasts, representatives, territories, customer conversations and operations.

Up front and center, teams are supported by Pixie, an artificial intelligence assistant named after Aron’s dog. He said that the platform works on behalf of customers to spread “pixie dust” and assist them wherever they need it.

Interacting with the system and Pixie will be familiar to anyone who has used an AI chatbot. It has a web-like interface that looks similar to ChatGPT, where users can ask questions about revenue and business operations. There, it turns fragmented data into answers, reports, and recommended actions from context drawn throughout the business.

Aside from an application interface, Aron said users can access Pixie via voice, email and chat tools such as Slack and WhatsApp.

Under the hood, SciFin’s AI maintains a curated context of business knowledge to keep information accurate and up to date. Every time a meeting happens, agents update what the assistant knows and how it speaks to users. As day-to-day operations change, specialist AI agents track metrics, update and build reports, and maintain a central view of what’s happening.

“Advisors have access to a lot of information, but it isn’t always connected or available when they need it,” said Morgan Stanley Managing Director Emmanuel Dounias. “SciFin’s aim to bring that context together would reduce manual work, help advisors spend more time with clients on more relevant conversations, and better provide the services their clients need.”

Although SciFin can be used by smaller companies, Aron noted that its value increases as businesses become larger and more complex. The sweet spot exists in the midmarket and enterprise as information becomes more spread out with more people and systems – where mistakes, inaccuracies and the “gaps” in the system can carry greater consequences.

“The lack of context hits you even more,” Aron said. For executives, he argued, getting an accurate view of pipeline, forecasts and customer health earlier can provide time to course-correct rather than discovering problems after they have already affected a quarter.

With the new funding, Aron said SciFin plans to build out its teams and expand the amount of business context its platform can understand. Although its initial focus is go-to-market organizations, he sees opportunities to extend the approach into areas such as finance and quarterly planning.

Through this expansion, the platform will support more use cases and help companies simplify day-to-day workflows. Aron added that modern-day organizations are “paying tons of money” for dozens of go-to-market tools, sometimes with “an army of people” needed to manage them. SciFin can work alongside existing products, he said, allowing them to consolidate tools where it makes sense.
