Business partners Trinh Wong and Jeff Vo launched Arisan Tea & Coffee two years ago on Story Road in San Jose’s Vietnam Town. The cafe’s name is “inspired by Mt. Ari Alishan in Taiwan, a famous high-mountain tea region known for producing some of the finest teas in the world,” Wong explained. “Many of the premium teas we serve today come from Taiwan, and the name reflects our passion for exceptional tea quality and craftsmanship.” Besides the teas, they’ve been sourcing ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha and Vietnamese coffee and pairing those drinks with desserts baked inhouse. The bakery case is filled with sweets including Sweet Corn Cake, Strawberry Cream Choux and Tiramisu Cake. “Many guests regularly drive across the Bay Area” to Arisan, Wong said, so she and her partner decided to look for a second location. The new cafe is located on El Camino Real, across from the Domain Hotel. Today’s grand opening features BOGO drinks all day, until 9 p.m. Details: 1082 E. El Camino Real, Sunnyvale.
