William Applegate, 31, has been [ordered by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to keep 100 yards](https://www.tmz.com/2026/06/17/sabrina-carpenter-granted-permanent-restraining-order/) from the 27-year-old “Espresso” Grammy winner, as well as her sister Sarah and the latter’s boyfriend George for five years, TMZ reports. Carpenter identified Applegate as “a complete stranger” when she initially sought a temporary protective order in recent weeks. Carpenter’s lawyers, who submitted Ring camera footage in their filing, said Applegate first came to her home on May 23 [in a “deliberate, calculated and aggressive” manner, “which is deeply alarming.”](https://www.tmz.com/2026/06/01/sabrina-carpenter-files-restraining-order/) Despite his arrest, Carpenter alleged Applegate tried again a day later, at which point, he adhered to security’s directive to leave, only to again return May 25, eliciting another police response. Applegate last week [challenged Carpenter’s bid for a restraining order](https://www.tmz.com/2026/06/12/man-arrested-at-sabrina-carpenter-house-is-fighting-restraining-order/), which he said was “brought against Carpenter’s will” by her security team and local authorities, on behalf of “a military government program’s maligned instructions,” per documents obtained by TMZ. He claimed she knew he’d been “outside her residence” since April.
