The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62.5 points, or 0.12 per cent, at the open to 52,287.14. The S&P 500 fell 11.7 points, or 0.16 per cent, at the open to 7,497.47, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 143.5 points, or 0.56 per cent, to 25,693.719 at the opening bell.
