That version of the company still exists, but it is no longer the whole story. On August 10, RUM Group reported second-quarter revenue of $40.4 million, up 61% from a year earlier, according to the company's own earnings release. That was not a normal advertising beat. It was the first quarter where investors could see what happens when Rumble's video business sits beside a newly acquired AI infrastructure estate.\n\nThe numbers are plain enough. RUM Group said Northern Data contributed $10.1 million of revenue from the June 17 acquisition date through the end of the quarter. The video business still did real work, with Rumble Video revenue of $30.3 million, up 21% year over year. That matters because it keeps this from being a simple shell story. The old business did not disappear. It became one part of a stranger, larger company.\n\nHere is the hard turn. RUM Group is now organized around two business units: Rumble, the video platform people recognize, and Quake AI, the cloud and AI infrastructure business that combines Rumble Cloud with Northern Data's GPU estate. In its June realignment announcement, the company said Quake AI includes roughly 22,000 Nvidia H100 and H200 GPUs across nine data centers, along with data center capacity that reaches into the hundreds of megawatts. That is not a content moderation story. It is a compute story.\n\n## The Business Changed In June\n\nRumble closed the Northern Data acquisition on June 17, securing about 85.2% of Northern Data's outstanding shares. The same announcement said the deal brought more than 200 megawatts of unmonetized energy capacity, and RUM Group's second-quarter release later put the 2027 targeted unmonetized capacity at about 250 megawatts. Management says that could represent more than $3 billion in annual run rate. Treat that number carefully. It is the company's projection, not money already in the bank.\n\nStill, you should not dismiss the pivot as a branding exercise. Northern Data said in May that utilization of its GPU estate had risen to about 85% in March, and RUM Group said Quake AI kept roughly that level for the quarter. That is the part investors needed to see. GPUs sound valuable on a slide deck, but idle GPUs are expensive furniture. Utilization is where the story starts to become measurable.\n\nThe Together AI contract gives the pivot another anchor. In June, Rumble and Together AI announced a multi-year agreement for dedicated Nvidia HGX B300 capacity, and StockTitan's republication of the company release described the customer commitment as $270 million, with room for a larger value or longer term if the market supports it. Together AI buys compute for AI training and inference. RUM Group is now selling that capacity while still running a creator video platform in the background.\n\nThat is an odd mix. It may also be the point. RUM Group is trying to convince investors that video distribution, creator data, cloud infrastructure and AI compute can sit inside one company without turning into a jumble. Frankly, the market is right to make it prove that. The second-quarter release shows revenue growth, but it also shows higher costs: cost of services rose to $30.6 million, general and administrative expense rose to $16.3 million, research and development rose to $6.8 million, and sales and marketing rose to $10.4 million.\n\n## The Stock Still Needs Proof\n\nShares had already been trading around the $6 mark through much of July, based on market data from ChartExchange and StockAnalysis, even after the Northern Data acquisition closed and the Together AI deal was announced. That tells you something. Investors are not ignoring the GPU story, but they are not paying full AI infrastructure prices for it yet either.\n\nGuidance is the next test. RUM Group told investors to expect third-quarter revenue of $87 million to $93 million: its first formal outlook since Northern Data closed. Hit that, and the June deal stops looking like a side bet. It starts looking like the center of the income statement. Miss it, and the market will treat Quake AI like another expensive growth project bolted onto a loss-making media platform.\n\nThere is also a balance-sheet footnote worth flagging. As of June 30, RUM Group held $220.5 million in total liquidity. That included $203.3 million in cash and 293.14 bitcoin, valued at $17.2 million. Small change next to the GPU estate. But it's a reminder of how many identities this company has carried in a short time: free-speech video platform, crypto-adjacent wallet builder, and now AI compute landlord.\n\nFor investors, the useful question is not whether RUM Group has changed. It has. The question is whether Quake AI can turn power, data centers and Nvidia hardware into steady contracted revenue without burying the company under buildout costs. The August 10 report gave you the first clean evidence of the new shape. The next two quarters have to show whether that shape can hold.\n\n**Also read:** [Barrick Names Sebastiaan Bock CEO of Its Overseas Gold and Copper Business](https://startupfortune.com/barrick-names-sebastiaan-bock-ceo-of-its-overseas-gold-and-copper-business/) • [How to Read a Vendor Contract's Auto-Renewal Clause Before It Traps You](https://startupfortune.com/how-to-read-a-vendor-contracts-auto-renewal-clause-before-it-traps-you/) • [IEH Corporation Says Hackers Breached Its Email After One Phishing Click](https://startupfortune.com/ieh-corporation-says-hackers-breached-its-email-after-one-phishing-click/)", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged", "canonical_source": "https://startupfortune.com/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged/", "published_at": "2026-08-11 16:00:22+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-08-11 16:17:44.744717+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "ai-infrastructure", "ai-products", "ai-startups"], "entities": ["RUM Group", "Northern Data", "Quake AI", "Nvidia", "Together AI", "Rumble"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/rumble-just-turned-into-a-22000-gpu-landlord-and-wall-street-shrugged.jsonld"}}
