Robots stage 'protest' demanding stricter AI rules in Poland

About 30 robots marched through Warsaw, Poland on Monday waving flags and chanting slogans including "Defend workplaces," "Time for rules" and "Don't wait, regulate" to campaign for stricter AI regulation. Human organiser Grzegorz Kuliś said the robot demonstration was intended to show the technology's potential and the urgency of the issue, adding, "we could be facing a problem very soon, and we need to start talking about it now.

Waving flags and chanting slogans like “Defend workplaces," "Time for rules" and "Don't wait, regulate", some 30 robots took to the streets of Poland’s capital on Monday to campaign for AI regulation. Human organiser Grzegorz Kuliś claimed the use of robots was meant to demonstrate their potential and, as a result, the urgency of the problem. He called for rules and regulations as a shield protecting workers. “We can see that those of us who work in high tech on a daily basis feel this its impact somewhat more acutely than other members of society”, Kuliś said. “That is why we feel it is our responsibility to alert people: listen, we could be facing a problem very soon, and we need to start talking about it now”, he added.
