RisingJoy has launched RJOY, a direct-to-consumer microdrama streaming service, initially available to audiences in the U.S. and Japan via TikTok Minis, the in-app feature that enables access to vertical content.

The launch was revealed by Cassandra Yang, CEO and co-founder of the Singapore-based company, at the APOS conference in Bali. “RJOY is the natural next step for RisingJoy,” Yang said. “In just a short time since our launch, we have curated some of the world’s best microdrama content and building the distribution relationships to match. RJOY brings that together in a direct-to-consumer experience, backed by partners who share our belief that micro-entertainment is one of the most significant content opportunities of this generation.”

RJOY launches with 20 originals scheduled for the second half of 2026. The immediately available slate spans AI anime and AI human formats, including “Addicted to the Dark Boss” and “Hide My Secret in the Moonlight” – both AI anime titles adapted from existing microdrama hits – along with AI human productions “The Substitute Bride’s Secret Wonderland” and “Blind Spoiled.” Also included is “Locked Away, I Became Unbreakable,” an original fantasy anime.

The company’s choice of launch markets reflects the commercial weight of both territories: the U.S. accounts for close to half of all global microdrama in-app purchase revenue outside China, while Japan ranks second worldwide, according to data from Media Partners Asia.

RisingJoy, which has built a licensing and distribution network spanning more than 30 countries and 50-plus platforms, covers content in Chinese, English, Korean and AI-original formats. The company is now moving into full-service micro entertainment studio territory, with original IP and co-production driving its next phase of growth.
