Revolut X now lets users analyze portfolios, backtest strategies, and execute trades through conversational AI prompts from Claude, Gemini, and more
Revolut just turned its crypto exchange into something you can talk to. The fintech giant announced that Revolut X, its dedicated crypto trading platform, now integrates with AI assistants including Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, OpenClaw, and Cursor, letting users trade, analyze, and backtest strategies through natural language prompts.
The integration supports market analysis, custom alert creation, order execution for both market and limit orders, and strategy backtesting across over 300 tokens available on Revolut X.
From 30-minute experiment to full product #
The feature traces back to an internal experiment where Revolut engineers connected Claude to the Revolut X API in roughly 30 minutes. That quick proof of concept produced a surprisingly functional market-making workflow covering inventory management, quoting, execution, monitoring, and alerts.
The technical foundation relies on Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), originally released in November 2024, layered on top of Revolut X’s existing trading API.
The practical applications are more concrete than the usual “AI meets finance” hand-waving. Users can set up Telegram notifications triggered when ETH hits a specific price target, or backtest a grid trading strategy on Bitcoin over a 30-day window, all through conversational prompts rather than manual configuration.
Revolut also published a dedicated GitHub repository offering universal installation support across more than 50 AI applications.
The guardrails matter #
Revolut requires user review and approval for all orders before execution. No trade goes through without a human confirming it.
The company also explicitly disclaims liability for AI-driven errors.
The integration follows Revolut’s rollout of AIR, its in-app AI assistant for general financial tasks, back in April 2026. That earlier product handled broader banking queries. This new feature is specifically designed for the crypto trading audience and operates at a deeper technical level, treating Revolut X’s API as a core execution layer rather than just an information source.
