Researchers plug GPT-6 Astra directly into a robot and let it clean up an unfamiliar kitchen

Researchers from Stanford and Caltech ran a humanoid robot powered by GPT-6 Astra through an independent kitchen-tidying task in an unfamiliar kitchen, using a system called HomeBody that skips a specially trained control layer and lets the language model call directly into modular skills such as grasping and navigating. The work demonstrates direct language-model control of a robot's low-level skills without a dedicated trained control layer.
