Removed ActivityPub from vkc.sh The author of vkc.sh has removed ActivityPub integration and disabled comments due to the difficulty of moderating interactions across multiple platforms. They plan to migrate the blog to the Eleventy static site generator, which lacks ActivityPub support, while maintaining RSS as a subscription option. This change is intended to free up time for creating content and engaging with supporters on Ko-Fi and Patreon. Removed ActivityPub from vkc.sh Disconnecting vkc.sh from ActivityPub. tldr; comment moderation is just too much hassle. I've made the decision to remove ActivityPub from this blog and to disable comments entirely. As more and more folks are following me here, on Mastodon, PeerTube, and YouTube, I'm just having a hard time with moderation requirements, and I've grown tired of checking the comments here as well as on my other platforms. In the short term, I am hoping to migrate the blog portion of my web presence over to the Eleventy static site generator, which as far as I know has no supported ActivityPub functionality. Using an SSG will also allow me to have a version of the blog that works on ancient computers- I've been inspired by my recent work on my band's website. In any case, I figure there's little benefit to these blog posts auto-posting via ActivityPub when I'll also post them on my actively monitored accounts. Particularly since I won't have the option when the website goes SSG. As always, RSS will remain an option for folks who want a feed to subscribe to. This should help me reclaim some time which I can devote to chatting with my Ko-Fi and Patreon supporters, as well as making more content for you all. Thanks for your understanding.
