Rebel Audio, the AI-powered podcasting startup that counts former “Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett as one of its advisers, has entered its public era.
In beta mode, that is. Rebel Audio said Friday it would bring its platform out of its monthslong invitation-only status into a public beta, allowing users to record, edit and distribute podcasts to platforms such as YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts without leaving the Rebel Audio platform. The platform also allows users to translate their podcasts into more than 30 languages, using a cloned version of the Rebel user’s voice, and to immediately clip portions of their podcast.
The Nashville-based company came out of stealth mode in March. Its seed round of funding was $4.15 million, with investors including Julie Gauthier, Benjamin Lurie, Jonathan Schulman, Launch Tennessee and Market Square Ventures. The company was created in partnership with Lattice Partners, an AI consulting firm and product studio that helps design, build and launch AI products.

“With Rebel Audio now in public beta, we’re giving every creator from our waitlist immediate access to the suite of tools, whether they have 100 followers or 10 million, the same production power, the same global reach, and the same ownership over their platform for the first time ever,” founder and CEO Jared Gutstadt said in a statement.
Rebel Audio will also launch a podcast — “Rebels,” hosted by Gutstadt — that sees the CEO weaving in topics like AI, entertainment, music and storytelling. Its inaugural guests include actor David Arquette, independent journalist Don Lemon, Grammy-winning musician Nile Rogers, Emmy Award-winning writer and producer Steve Levitan and acclaimed comedian and writer Neil Brennan.
“As a creator and inventor, I see this as the entry point for the era of social audio to take hold and this is the tool to unlock it!” Gutstadt said.
