A product called Restate re-speaks every sentence of live audio, including BBC World News broadcasts, at a listener-selected proficiency level (A2, B1, or B2) a few seconds behind the speaker with captions alongside, and allows the level to be switched mid-listen back to the original. Restate works in the browser first on podcasts, videos, lectures and conversations, with a phone app in development, and is English-only for now with more languages planned; the company states a patent is pending under PCT/IB2026/057029. A separate product, Interpret Cloud, handles live interpretation when the problem is another language entirely.
