The clip, from Sunday (21 June), shows Qatari prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, walking past Vance without acknowledging him to greet Pakistani PM [Shehbaz Sharif](/topic/shehbaz-sharif) as Vance looks on. Vance appears to try and prompt a conversation by saying, “Hey,” though the Qatari leader appears momentarily confused. The incident sparked conversation online, saying the Qatari PM ‘snubbed’ the US vice president.
