Pixel 11 Pro launches with the best of Google’s Gemini Intelligence starting at $1,099 [Hands-on] Google's Pixel 11 Pro launches at $1,099 with a 6.3-inch Super Actua display, Tensor G6 chip with 50% more TPU power, and 12GB of RAM, featuring Gemini AI capabilities like agentic tasks and Magic Capture. The phone introduces HiLight LED notifications and a redesigned 48MP telephoto lens with 120x Pro Zoom. Google’s next generation of Pixel phones run on the company’s newest version of Android, yes, but they also pack an outfit of smart features that Google says make the Pixel 11 Pro a more useful tool than any model before it. The kicker is that it starts at a higher price than we’re used to, because of one big change to storage. Of the four models, the Pixel 11 Pro https://www.tkqlhce.com/click-5527864-15751464?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.google.com%2Fconfig%2Fpixel 11 pro&sid=andrewromero%3ASSFBBD sits in the middle of the slab pack, but doesn’t necessarily get the middle-child treatment. The Pixel 11 Pro XL, on the other hand, brings all of Google’s best features in a much larger package. Pixel 11 Pro carries a nearly unchanged design apart from several new colors. The camera bar spanning the back of the phones is significantly shallower on the base model, but the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL retain most of its dimensions, to a tee. During our hands-on time before launch, the jump in camera bar size is noticeable. With a case, the Pixel 11’s camera hub disappears like the camera notch on the Pixel 10a, but the camera’s design on the Pixel 11 Pro models gets no such downsize. The real attraction sits over the flash LED with something Google calls “HiLight.” Google’s HiLight changes the color of the rear LED based on incoming notifications with a beautiful diffusion effect. It won’t work for everything in the state it’s in, but incoming calls from favorite contacts and Gemini callups will summon the tiny ring light with a “gentle glow,” as Google puts it. Google also confirmed the feature will eventually work for Messages, but can’t say whether it will expand beyond. It’s reminiscent of the way the Google Gemini Speaker lights up while the LLM listens and responds. On the other side, the Pixel 11 Pro gets a 6.3-inch Super Actua display with a peak of 3,000 nits. It’s the same size as the Pixel 11, and essentially the same display tech. The Pro model gets a nice resolution boost, though, at 1280 x 2856 in the OLED panel. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is a step up with a towering 6.8-inch display. The remaining changes take place inside the phone. Google upgrades to Tensor G6, which equips the phone with 50% more TPU power. Clearly, Gemini has become the foundation of new devices, and this is no different. It’s paired with 12GB of RAM as a baseline across the series – up to 16GB but down from last year at the bottom tier – to power Gemini Nano for on-device processing. Google says the new Pixel lineup will be able to do things like order groceries or book rides with Gemini, acting as an agentic model. The agentic shift seems to be a massive jump from Magic Cue, which launched a year ago. It’s not going away https://9to5google.com/2026/05/20/google-pixel-10-magic-cue-more-apps/ , though. Magic Cue will be in full force to surface items like reservations and calendar bookings when you need them. Flight recall looks more in-depth and richer in conversation. Google also notes the Pixel 11 has improved speech-to-text recognition, which filters out filler words while you’re thinking about what to say. It isn’t exactly a shiny new feature, but it’s an exciting update that has taken way too long to come around. The Pixel 11 Pro https://www.tkqlhce.com/click-5527864-15751464?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.google.com%2Fconfig%2Fpixel 11 pro&sid=andrewromero%3ASSFBBD and Pixel 11 Pro XL’s camera setups set them apart from other devices thanks to their ISP, and Google has made a few changes to the telephoto lens to make long-distance shots more reliable. The 48MP sensor and lens have been redesigned with up to 120x Pro Zoom for the sort of shots you can only get with the “Pro” model. The wide and ultrawide cameras have an edge, too. The Pixel 11 Pro pairs a 50MP wide sensor with a 48MP ultrawide sensor to fill out the new camera bar. Gemini Intelligence gets packed into the camera, too. A new feature called “Magic Capture” lets you offload the shooting to the Pixel by simply aiming. It’s similar to taking a video, but Google says you don’t even need to keep an eye on the viewfinder. The finished product is a set of photos and video, cobbled together by the Pixel. It’s available as a new mode beyond photo and video. Similar to previous models, the Pixel 11 gets Night Sight capture. The new Tensor G6 gives the Pixel 11 the ability to capture night photos with “Instant Night Sight.” Google says there’s a big improvement in processing time, which happened to be a big hurdle for Night Sight when it launched a few years back. It’s steadily improved, but could be a big jump that makes the feature regularly usable. Each device has the same stated battery rating of 30 hours or more, which is up from the 24 hours Google claimed for the Pixel 10 Pro. The Pixel 11 Pro reaches that with a 4,850mAh battery, and the Pixel 11 Pro XL packs a 5,115mAh battery. It seems Google is hedging its bets on better performance with improved power efficiency from the Tensor G6, since the Pixel 10 Pro had a negligibly larger battery when it launched last year. Time will tell, but anything over a full day would be welcome. At $1,099, the Pixel 11 Pro sees a price jump from the $999 Pixel 10 Pro, but that’s because the cheapest option is now a 256GB model, instead of 128GB. RAMaggeddon comes for us all, but the Pixel 11 series might begin to lose its grip on its affordability classification with the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which is more expensive, no matter how you look at it. It’s up from $1,119 to $1,299 this year. It will all boil down to whether Tensor G6 has the power to make for a smooth experience with good battery life and a dependable camera. The Gemini stuff is a bonus. Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are available starting today in Canyon, Olive, Fog, and in a void of Matte Obsidian colorways.
