Pixel 11 Pro Fold looks familiar, but maybe a bit thinner in official-looking images [Gallery]

A new batch of Pixel 11 Pro Fold images have hit the web, showing off Google’s new foldable in its green color with a familiar design that at least looks just a bit thinner than last year’s.

Evan Blass’ “Leakmail” newsletter just dropped a host of Pixel 11 Pro Fold images, all of which are high-res and official-looking, like they’ve been pulled from one of Google’s own listings for the device.

We’re not seeing a ton new here.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold is pictured in its green color we’ve seen before, a darker twist on last year’s “Jade” color, with emphasis put on its new camera bump, Glow LED, and Gemini throughout. But what caught my eye is that, at least based on these images, it sure looks like Pixel 11 Pro Fold might be a little thinner than expected.

Technically, we knew that, as a previous leak pinned the device at 10.1mm when folded – down from 10.8mm. In this leak the tells for the thickness boil down to the spacing around the speaker cutouts and buttons, which are slimmer compared to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. An overview shot of the partially-unfolded Pixel also caught my eye, as it looks pretty slim here.

Even if Google’s new foldable did shave off the better part of a millimeter, that’s a ways off from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while also being thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (9.7mm). It roughly puts it up against the Motorola Razr Fold (10.1mm), which I certainly didn’t have a problem with when I reviewed it not long ago.

Google’s time on the bleeding edge has clearly passed based on these leaks, with the same core design for the third year in a row, and some relatively thick bezels and hardware compared to Samsung’s competition.

Whatever Google does have to bring to the table, we’ll find out very soon as the company is hosting its launch event on August 12.
