Pixel 11 Gboard Writing tools offer ‘Personalized suggestions’ with Gemini Intelligence Google's Pixel 11 series introduces Gboard Writing tools with Gemini Intelligence, adding a 'Personalized suggestions' feature that tailors draft suggestions based on typing history and screen context from supported messaging apps. The feature, processed via Private AI Compute, is available in Google Messages, Google Chat, Line, and other chat apps across multiple languages, but excludes the European Economic Area. On the Pixel 11 series, Google has updated Gboard’s Writing tools with Gemini Intelligence to offer “Personalized suggestions.” The big upgrade is how Gboard now “provides draft suggestions tailored to your personal style” as part of a new “Suggested” tab. It is “based on analysis of your current conversation, text input, and typing patterns.” If you type “7 PM Spanish restaurant?” in a messaging app text field, the “Suggested” tab may rewrite it to “That sounds like a great plan How about dinner on Thursday at 7 PM at the Spanish restaurant?” Specifically, Gboard will use your “typing history, as well as screen context taken at the time of use from supported first and third-party messaging apps.” The latter is “obtained by taking a snapshot of your screen only at the time of use.” Like other features, Private AI Compute cloud processing is leveraged: With Google’s Private AI Compute, your data is encrypted and processed in a private, dedicated space on your device and in the cloud. No one can see your data, not even Google. There’s a new menu in the top-right corner that lets you enable/disable these “Personalized suggestions.” Google notes if they are “unavailable for this app” or “at this time,” in which case the tab does not appear. Pixel 10 vs. 11 Additionally, a new smart reply feature “provides quick response options based on your screen context” and writing style. The “Predefined rewriting styles” are unchanged, but will use screen text if Personalized suggestions are enabled: Proofread : Check and correct your texts for grammatical or spelling mistakes. Rephrase : Offers alternative phrasing for clearer or more appropriate communication. Professional : Adjusts tone for formal communication. Friendly : Changes tone to be more casual and approachable. Emojify : Adds emojis to messages for expressiveness. Elaborate : Expands text with more details. Shorten : Condenses text for conciseness. The carousel that lets you access them has shrunk a bit to fit the “Describe your edit” button. This lets you manually enter a prompt “How should this text change?” . This Pixel 11 feature is supported in Google Messages, Google Chat, Line, and “other chat apps” with the following languages: - English Australia, Canada, India, UK, and US - Chinese Simplified and Traditional - French France and Canada - German Germany - Italian Italy - Japanese - Korean - Portuguese Portugal and Brazil - Spanish US, Mexico, and Spain Available in all supported countries or regions, excluding the European Economic Area EEA .
