The contributor, who had been maintaining the project for months without contact from the creator since April 1st, announced the fork following what they described as a \"rug pull\" by the original developer. The new maintainer has pledged to continue development without any cryptocurrency involvement, conducting a security review of the codebase before moving forward.", "body_md": "# Picking up the Pieces #1\n\n[Announcements](/open-gsd/get-shit-done-redux/discussions/categories/announcements)\n\n-\n\n## AnnouncementLike many of you, I woke up on Friday, May 22nd after a fitful night of sleep — dreaming about PRs and hoping Claude finished the run I asked it to, instead of arguing its way into stopping again. Instead, I found that the guy who started this revolution had apparently let the world of crypto win him over to the dark side, and they \"rug pulled\" everything. I personally was not involved in the token at all — I am against that whole world. However, I believed in GSD and what it did for me, and I had been contributing full time for several months, mostly just playing the Wizard of Oz: keeping updates going and building features I wanted. The last time I spoke to the original creator was April 1st, 2026. After that, I got no responses. At the time, we were told his internet hardware had failed, and that living in South America meant getting parts for it (Starlink) was taking 4–6 weeks. I don't know if that was real or not. Other than one surprise when GSD Cloud was announced, and a few updates around the end of April that he pushed directly into the repo (without a PR — much to my annoyance, as I'd been trying to keep things clean) along with adding the spike feature, I haven't heard from him since April 1st. I've forked the project and copied over the issues and PRs that were in flight. I'll be doing a security review, but I'll be honest: my confidence level that there's no code fuckery is pretty high, because I've been a good little IT Architect in my off hours, keeping things tight as best I can. I don't know what the future holds, but I know I want to keep working on this for as long as using AI for coding is still affordable — this tool has helped me create things I've always wanted to create. I'm going to keep going for now, and we now hold the keys to the kingdom ourselves. I can promise I will not be dealing with any crypto shit, because I hate it all. I'm here for the code, and for the joy it's brought me these last few months. |\n\nBeta\nWas this translation helpful?\n[Give feedback.](#)\n\n## Replies: 7 comments 4 replies\n\n##\n###\nThis comment was marked as spam.\n\n###\nThis comment was marked as spam.\n\n-\n\n|\nGood luck!
