Each Teammate runs on its own virtual machine with a desktop and browser. Users track progress through dedicated threads in the Perplexity app and can interact with the agents via Slack. Perplexity joins SpaceX, Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic, which already offer similar agents through Grok Bots, [Muse](https://the-decoder.com/metas-muse-agent-gives-every-user-a-full-cloud-computer-running-ubuntu-linux/), [Dots](https://the-decoder.com/openai-launches-always-on-dots-agents-to-rival-metas-muse/), and [Duet](https://the-decoder.com/anthropic-takes-on-grok-bot-metas-muse-and-openais-dots-with-its-always-on-agent-claude-duet/). Teammates require the Max plan at $200 per month. Dots start at $100, and Duet is available from $20. In practice, the cheaper options will likely hit their usage limits fast.
