# Palantir in Europe: 40 documented customer relationships across 14 countries > Source: > Published: 2026-07-21 07:50:13+00:00 [CipherCue](/) is a European infrastructure-observation platform. Most of what we publish is derived from our own continuous scanning. This article is different: it is a public-source review of one vendor's European footprint, assembled from contract records, parliamentary records, official announcements and independent reporting, with a small number of technical corroborations. Palantir Technologies is a United States company founded in 2003 with early funding from the CIA's venture arm In-Q-Tel. Its principal products are Gotham (used by intelligence, defence and police agencies), Foundry (used across commercial industries and increasingly in government), Apollo (deployment and operational tooling) and AIP (Palantir's platform for integrating AI models with governed enterprise data, operational workflows, applications and automations). The article names the European organisations we could document, labels the evidence class behind each, and notes where a public decision has been taken to reduce, replace or block Palantir use. Two limitations shape everything below. First, Palantir does not publish a customer list. Tenants sit behind private hostnames, some but not all of which live under palantirfoundry.com, and free certificate-transparency interfaces time out on that domain during enumeration. The article therefore relies mainly on desk research rather than probes, and a reader can reasonably describe that as a lit review with a small technical corroboration layer. Second, aggregator sites (bloomberry.com, appsruntheworld.com) and Palantir's own Impact case studies list further European entities not documented here; someone including those sources uncritically would produce a larger list. We chose the narrower cut because each entry below has a clickable source and a labelled evidence class. ## Public sector: defence, intelligence, police, health, central government Public-sector entries below span twelve countries plus Europol: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, Lithuania and Norway. Not all entries are current active deployments. Palantir also supports custom or customer-managed domains, so absence of a resolving palantirfoundry.com hostname for a company is weak negative evidence. Two customer-named palantirfoundry.com hostnames resolved during testing on 20 July 2026: `sonnedix.palantirfoundry.com` returned an A record pointing to AWS eu-west-3, alongside Palantir's published Sonnedix case study.`abinbev.palantirfoundry.com` returned an A record pointing to a Microsoft Azure address. Palantir has not publicly confirmed AB InBev as a customer, and DNS resolution does not by itself establish a current commercial contract, active use, product scope or start date. AB InBev is therefore labelled "Infrastructure observation" above rather than as a confirmed customer. A third Palantir-related hostname was identified in Merck KGaA's certificate-transparency history under the merckgroup.com apex: `foundry-api-extender.p.uptimize.merckgroup.com` . This corroborates Merck KGaA's own 2018 disclosure of the Syntropy joint venture. The other candidates tried during research (Airbus, Stellantis, Ferrari, BP, Sanofi, Novartis, Swiss Re, Ringier, UniCredit, Société Générale, UK MoD, NHS England, FCA, DGSI, Rheinmetall, Helsing, several Länder police forces) returned NXDOMAIN under obvious tenant-name variants. That does not mean those customers have no tenant; tenant slugs are not required to match the company name, and Palantir supports custom domains. Full enumeration of the palantirfoundry.com namespace would require sustained certificate-transparency ingestion which is out of scope for this article. ## Existing deployments, blocked procurements and replacement initiatives Five European decisions between April and July 2026, together with one earlier historical cancellation, are relevant to Palantir's near-term footprint in Europe. The Metropolitan Police case likewise reads as a procurement dispute (with an active High Court claim by Palantir) rather than a pure sovereignty rejection. Both examples broaden the picture: European Palantir contracts can come apart for procurement or execution reasons, not only for sovereignty. not awarded procurement blocked replace / reduce reported guidance ## Ireland: no publicly documented deployment, plus an ISIF shareholding We found no publicly documented Irish deployment meeting this article's evidence threshold. The absence of public evidence does not prove that no undisclosed deployment exists; it means none surfaced during research using the sources listed in the methodology. The obvious candidates (An Garda Síochána, Defence Forces, HSE, Revenue Commissioners, Ryanair, AIB, Bank of Ireland, CRH, Kerry Group, Kingspan, Smurfit Kappa, Flutter, DAA) returned no procurement notice, official announcement or credible named-source report. Two Irish-adjacent items are worth mentioning even though neither is a customer relationship. The Irish Strategic Investment Fund, the state's sovereign wealth arm managed by the NTMA, holds a passive equity stake in Palantir Technologies. Sinn Féin justice spokesperson Matt Carthy TD raised the shareholding in the Dáil in December 2025; the Tánaiste defended it. [Sinn Féin's public statement](https://sinnfein.ie/news/simon-harris-defends-irish-state-investment-in-palantir-despite-role-in-genocide-matt-carthy-td/) put the value at roughly €1m at that point. Later coverage by [The Irish Times](https://www.irishtimes.com/business/2024/12/11/palantir-no-stranger-to-controversy-at-home-or-abroad/) (Dec 2024) and [The Canary](https://www.thecanary.co/global/world-analysis/2026/07/12/palantir-irish-government/) (Jul 2026) reported larger figures at different points in time. The canonical source for holdings and valuation is the NTMA / ISIF annual report; the figures used above are the values reported by the sources cited and should be reconciled against the ISIF annual report before republication. An ISIF equity holding is not a purchase or deployment of Palantir software. Separately, the Police Service of Northern Ireland maintains a [public Freedom of Information disclosure log](https://www.psni.police.uk/foi-disclosure-log/palantir) for Palantir-related queries and returns "Neither Confirm Nor Deny" to every request. That is the standard National Police Chiefs' Council response used across UK forces. It is not a confirmation of use and it is not a denial. The UK Ministry of Defence entered a Palantir enterprise agreement reported at approximately £240m; alongside the agreement, Palantir committed to invest up to £1.5bn in its UK presence and ecosystem. The £1.5bn is a Palantir investment commitment, not UK government contract revenue, and should not be counted as UK public-sector spend on Palantir. Germany's five entries include three Länder-level police forces (Hessen, NRW, Bavaria) and two private companies (Merck KGaA, Axel Springer); the Bundeswehr federal defence procurement was not awarded to Palantir. Switzerland reaches three entirely through the private sector (Novartis, Swiss Re, Ringier). Sonnedix illustrates the difficulty of assigning a single country to a multinational deployment: the parent is headquartered in London, the operating base is in Madrid, and the resolving tenant hostname (`sonnedix.palantirfoundry.com` , 20 July 2026) points at AWS eu-west-3 in Paris. Country in a European corporate table is a choice of measurement, not a fact. ## Method note Inclusion criterion. An entry appears in the tables above when it is supported by at least one of: - a procurement or parliamentary record; - an official announcement by Palantir or the customer organisation; - credible named-source reporting in a reputable outlet; - a direct technical infrastructure observation (DNS or certificate transparency). Each row carries a status label so evidence class is visible per entry. Labels used: Confirmed active deployment; Confirmed deployment, current status unclear; Pilot; Strategic partnership / proposed regional hub; Letter of intent; Infrastructure observation; Existing deployment being replaced or reduced. Reported relationships that did not meet the evidence threshold are listed in a separate table rather than counted in the main total. Technical observations are supporting evidence, not proof of a current commercial contract. A resolving palantirfoundry.com hostname does not by itself establish current use, product scope, or contract start date. NXDOMAIN for a company-name guess is weak negative evidence and does not establish absence of a deployment: Palantir supports custom customer-managed domains and tenant slugs do not necessarily match the company name. Publicly linked does not always mean currently active customer. Contract status may be unknown; pilots may not convert; letters of intent may lapse without a signed contract. The dataset is a dated public-source snapshot at 20 July 2026. Excluded from the tables: aggregator sites (bloomberry.com, appsruntheworld.com, TheirStack, WebSets) which list customers without primary sourcing; Wikipedia and analyst blogs when they were the sole source. Both were used as lead generators for follow-up research but never as sole citation. Where a City AM, The Register, Cybernews, NL Times, TIME, Bloomberg or similar outlet is cited, the label "Independent reporting" is used because the outlet is not a primary participant in the relationship. The strength of the underlying evidence varies: some relationships are confirmed active deployments, while others are pilots, partnerships, letters of intent or technical observations. Recent European decisions also do not form a single withdrawal trend. They include the replacement of existing systems (France, DGSI), efforts to reduce future dependency (Netherlands MoD), prospective procurements not awarded or blocked (Bundeswehr, Metropolitan Police), reported government guidance affecting some state-controlled entities (Spain), and delivery-value criticism of existing contracts (NHS Federated Data Platform). This article should be read as a dated map of publicly documented relationships, not as a definitive list of every current Palantir customer in Europe. Snapshot as at 20 July 2026.
