Otōto 2026.21.1 Otōto released version 2026.21.1 beta, updating its plugin runtime Wasmtime to 48.0.6 to address twelve advisories dated 14 October (RUSTSEC-2026-0352 to 0364), including one rated high for a plugin filesystem escape that Otōto says cannot be reached because plugins get no files of their own. The preceding 2026.21 beta moved rustls to 0.23.46 for four advisories published 14 October (RUSTSEC-2026-0346 to 0349), one medium and three low, and made the installer work with any agent, including VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Pi or any other MCP client. Users upgrade with the command ototo update. What each release added or changed, as its package's own notes say. ototo update installs the newest; the feed tells a feed reader, or your team's chat, when there is one. 2026.21.1 beta Security: the plugin runtime is updated. Wasmtime, which runs Otōto's plugins, moves to 48.0.6 for twelve advisories dated 14 October RUSTSEC-2026-0352 to 0364 . The one rated high, an escape from a plugin's own files, cannot be reached in Otōto, which gives a plugin no files of its own; the others let a plugin stop Otōto. A plugin runs only when signed by a key you trust, which narrows who could exploit them; update anyway. Upgrading from 2026.21: ototo update. 2026.21 beta Security: rustls is updated. rustls, which carries Otōto's HTTPS connections to model servers, Anthropic's API, your forge and the download channel , moves to 0.23.46 for four advisories published on 14 October RUSTSEC-2026-0346 to 0349 . One is rated medium and three low; update anyway. The installer works with any agent. 2026.20's ototo init sets Otōto up where neither Claude Code nor OpenCode is installed, but the installer stopped before it got there and asked you to install one first. It now installs Otōto for VS Code, a JetBrains IDE, Pi or any other MCP client, sets up Otōto's own side, and says what to register with your agent. ototo update no longer fails when there is nothing to set up. The setup it runs asked "Go ahead?" even when everything was already in place, and without a terminal a script, or an agent running the command it stopped with an error. It now says there is nothing to change and carries on. ototo update says which Otōto it left when an install stops partway. It said the old version was still installed even when the new one was. It now says the new one is installed and how to finish. Upgrading from 2026.20: ototo update. 2026.20 beta The maven plugin follows a parent or a BOM into Maven's cache. With dependency caches = true in Otōto's settings, a parent POM or an imported BOM that is not in your repository is read where Maven keeps what it has downloaded, ~/.m2/repository, along with its own parents and BOMs. read pom.xml spring-core then ends with the version Maven would use and the file and line that set it, where it used to stop at "not in this repository". It also names the dependency's JAR when the cache has it, ready for read
