# Orange enters data centre business with €3bn joint venture > Source: > Published: 2026-07-28 10:54:32+00:00 [data centres](/tag/data-centres/) With crypto miners and even [ shoe companies](https://www.thestack.technology/shoe-retailer-allbirds-pivots-to-ai-with-50m-to-buy-up-gpus/) already getting into the data centre game, it is of little surprise that telcos are also throwing their hats into the ring, and France’s Orange is next up. On Monday, Orange [revealed](https://www.orange.com/en/press-release/orange-et-morrison-annoncent-un-projet-de-creation-de-coentreprise-de-data-centers-pour-renforcer-la-souverainete-numerique-de-leurope-486247-486247?ref=thestack.technology) its €3 billion ($3.4 billion) plan to launch a data centre joint venture with infrastructure investor Morrison and grow its existing compute capacity by 10x to 400MW.
