A development team has taken ownership of the open-source application ScholArxiv, rebranding it as OpenScholarXIV, and will actively maintain and update the tool after a year of stagnant development. The app, which helps users find, read, bookmark, summarize, and discuss arXiv papers using AI, has accumulated over 1,100 GitHub stars despite the lack of recent updates. The new maintainers have already updated dependencies, fixed bugs, added paper categories and a model selector, and plan further improvements to support focused research workflows.

OpenScholarXIV helps users find, read, bookmark, summarize, and discuss arXiv papers with AI. Our focus moving forward is to improve the app steadily, maintain the codebase, fix issues, refresh the experience, and build features that support focused research workflows.
