We all know what’s going on with the powers that be, so I’ll keep it light:

OpenFromSource is a Debian package management tool that lowers the bar to modify, build and install packages [after the fall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqg1G78cH2A&t=12s).

Started out as a tryout for Spec-Driven Development. As a dev who has never done anything of this size with python, I’m pleasantly suprised with how it turned out.

I carefully curated all the specs and (most of) the generated markdown files.

However, all code is AI generated:

When approaching alpha I let Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3 review the code, but the follow up changes/fixes were again done by DS 0731.

Wouldn’t call it production ready yet. Still, it’s been of good use updating a bunch of systems around the homelab.
