Original story from last month is below.\n\nOpenAI is catching up with some competitors and offering new personal finance features inside ChatGPT. The new personal finance experience is rolling out starting today for some subscribers.\n\n## The enhanced personal finance experience lets you connect ChatGPT to your financial accounts\n\n“Today we’re releasing a preview of a new personal finance experience in ChatGPT to Pro users in the U.S.,” OpenAI announced.\n\n“Now you can securely connect your financial accounts, see a dashboard of where your money is going, and ask ChatGPT questions grounded in your financial context – all while staying in control of your data.”\n\nOpenAI is limiting the release for now so it can “learn from real-world use, improve the experience, and expand thoughtfully.”\n\nChatGPT Pro subscribers with access can start by connecting a financial account to the app.\n\nTo get started, open Finances from the sidebar in ChatGPT and select ‘Get started’ or start a conversation from anywhere in ChatGPT by saying ‘@Finances, connect my accounts’.\n\nChatGPT will then guide you through securely linking accounts through Plaid, with Intuit support coming soon. After you authenticate, ChatGPT will begin syncing and categorizing your data, which may take a few minutes.\n\nChatGPT will present a personal finance dashboard that can show up-to-date data around spending, subscriptions, upcoming payments, and portfolio performance.\n\nUsers can also provide important context to ChatGPT, like financial goals to keep in mind.\n\nFinancial data can be removed at any time. OpenAI also provides controls for removing personal finance information from ChatGPT’s memory feature. The company says private chats in ChatGPT will not use personal finance data.\n\nYou can learn more about ChatGPT’s new personal finance features [here](https://openai.com/index/personal-finance-chatgpt/).\n\nThe feature requires ChatGPT Pro, which costs $100/month. OpenAI’s $20/month ChatGPT Plus subscription doesn’t support the new personal finance experience yet.\n\n**More recent ChatGPT news:**\n\n[OpenAI upgrades ChatGPT and Codex with GPT-5.5: ‘a new class of intelligence for real work’](https://9to5mac.com/2026/04/23/openai-upgrades-chatgpt-and-codex-with-gpt-5-5-a-new-class-of-intelligence-for-real-work/)[OpenAI unveils ChatGPT Images 2 image-gen model capable of magazine design](https://9to5mac.com/2026/04/21/openai-unveiling-chatgpt-images-2-image-generation-model-watch-live-demo-here/)[OpenAI releases GPT-5.5 Instant update to make ChatGPT smarter with fewer emoji](https://9to5mac.com/2026/05/05/gpt-5-5-instant-makes-chatgpt-more-accurate-while-nixing-gratuitous-emojis/)[OpenAI brings Codex to ChatGPT for iPhone, iPad, and Android with these features](https://9to5mac.com/2026/05/14/openai-brings-codex-control-to-chatgpt-for-iphone-and-android/)\n\n*Do more with your Apple products*\n\n[Apple AirTag 2 | Add Find My tracking to keys, bags, bikes, more](https://amzn.to/4vjNWN1)\n\n[AirPods 4 | Apple’s newest wireless headphones](https://amzn.to/43ndewV)\n\n[AirPods Pro 3 | Apple’s best wireless headphones](https://amzn.to/4ut3FYp)\n\n[Beats USB-A to USB-C Cable | The official CarPlay cable](https://amzn.to/4mpKs7K)\n\n*FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links.* [More.](https://9to5mac.com/about/#affiliate)\n\n[our homepage](http://9to5mac.com/)for all the latest news, and follow 9to5Mac on\n\n[exclusive stories](https://9to5mac.com/feature/exclusive/),\n\n[reviews](https://9to5mac.com/guides/review/),\n\n[how-tos](https://9to5mac.com/guides/how-to/), and\n\n[subscribe to our YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/9to5mac)", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/openais-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-expands-to-more-customers", "canonical_source": "https://9to5mac.com/2026/06/30/openai-just-released-new-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-customers/", "published_at": "2026-06-30 21:33:45+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-06-30 21:55:23.915473+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-products", "ai-tools", "generative-ai", "large-language-models"], "entities": ["OpenAI", "ChatGPT", "Plaid", "Intuit"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/openais-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-expands-to-more-customers", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/openais-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-expands-to-more-customers.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/openais-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-expands-to-more-customers.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/openais-personal-finance-features-for-chatgpt-expands-to-more-customers.jsonld"}}
