The AI giant is swapping its first-ever CRO for a cybersecurity executive with deep enterprise sales experience as it pushes to make enterprise revenue half its business.
OpenAI is making a significant change at the top of its revenue organization, replacing Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser with Dali Rajic, who previously served as President and COO at Wiz, the cloud security startup.
Dresser made history as OpenAI’s first-ever CRO when she was appointed on December 9, 2025, arriving from Slack where she had served as CEO since 2023. Her tenure lasted roughly eight months, a remarkably short stint for a C-suite hire at one of the most closely watched companies in tech.
From Slack to Wiz: a very different playbook #
OpenAI’s enterprise segment grew to represent about 40% of the company’s revenue under her watch, with internal targets aiming to push that figure to 50% by the end of 2026.
Rajic comes from a world where selling to large enterprises isn’t aspirational, it’s table stakes. At Wiz, she oversaw operations during a period of explosive growth for the cloud security firm. Before that, she held CRO and COO roles at Zscaler, another cybersecurity heavyweight, and served as Chief Customer & Revenue Officer at AppDynamics.
Why the change, and why now #
Rajic’s cybersecurity background could prove particularly relevant here. Security and compliance concerns remain the single biggest barrier to enterprise AI adoption. Having a CRO who speaks the language of CISOs and understands how large organizations evaluate risk could help OpenAI close deals that might otherwise stall in procurement purgatory.
This move is also part of a broader pattern of executive changes at OpenAI. The company has been reshuffling its leadership team as it transitions from a nonprofit research organization to a for-profit entity with commercial ambitions. Notably, an August 11, 2026 report referred to Dresser as the current CRO, indicating she was still managing significant responsibilities as the company finalizes the changeover.
