OpenAI Releases Sign in with ChatGPT DevKit

OpenAI released the Sign in with ChatGPT DevKit, a local Node.js SDK and React component set that lets developers add ChatGPT account sign-in to open-source apps running on a user's own machine and, with user permission, power app AI features through the user's ChatGPT plan instead of an API key. The kit ships the @siwc/local and @siwc/react packages, design assets, a component gallery, and Paste Perfect, a macOS example app that transforms copied text via the ⌘⇧Space shortcut, and requires macOS 14 or later, Node.js 22.12 or later, and Xcode Command Line Tools. OpenAI-authored code and documentation fall under the Sign-in with ChatGPT DevKit Noncommercial License v1.0.
