OpenAI Now Has a ChatGPT Desktop App for Linux

OpenAI has released a preview version of its ChatGPT desktop app for Linux, supporting Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, Fedora 43 and 44, and both x64 and ARM64 architectures. The app includes ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex, and is available via .deb or .rpm packages. OpenAI announced the release in a post on X this week, aiming to provide an official option for Linux users amid growing interest in Linux as an OS for AI agents.
