Intel Arc G3 Extreme-powered handhelds are here, aiming to deliver a next-gen experience for the handheld market. Pre-orders are now available for the OneXPlayer 3, which is powered by the G3 Extreme chip, features an 8.8″ 144Hz OLED display, and a capable 85Wh battery. OneXPlayer’s third-gen model starts from $1,540.96 with early bird pricing.
The launch of the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ this week was met with mixed reaction – but not due to its specs. Discussion was largely centered on the price tag, originally costing $1,699 at third-party retailers before officially being upped to $1,799. Those who pre-ordered the device in the US also quickly realized that they don’t have access to the full ‘Launch Pack’ offer.

Based on the details posted to its Indiegogo page, the OneXPlayer 3 will eventually become more expensive than the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ (based on its current price), but early bird pricing makes the former an incredibly appealing option.

Unlike the new MSI Claw, the OneXPlayer 3 also has detachable controllers, which can be attached to a controller connector – ideal for playing on a bigger screen while docked. This is a similar design to what we’ve seen with Lenovo’s flagship Legion Go handheld products. OneXPlayer has also fitted it with hall-effect triggers, though the joysticks remain capacitive.

OneXPlayer describes the new handheld as a “Next-Gen 3-in-1 AI Gaming and Productivity Handheld” thanks to its versatile design and excellent specs. Just like the Claw, it’s also fitted with an Intel AI Boost NPU, offering up to 46 TOPS of AI performance. Four M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots also allow for excellent storage upgrade options.
