# OneRail launches AI platform OmniSTAR with Nvidia to overhaul last-mile delivery for retailers

The Orlando-based logistics company is betting that GPU-accelerated AI can solve retail's most expensive headache: getting packages to doorsteps on time

OneRail, an AI-native logistics company based in Orlando, has unveiled OmniSTAR, a delivery decisioning platform built in collaboration with Nvidia. The platform is designed to help enterprise retailers, wholesalers, and distributors make faster, smarter choices about how packages get from warehouse to doorstep.

## What OmniSTAR actually does

OmniSTAR builds on OneRail’s existing OmniPoint platform, but adds a layer of AI-driven decisioning that the company describes as “mode-agnostic.” The system evaluates all available options and picks the best one based on cost, speed, and reliability.

Core features include automated routing, carrier selection, service-level predictions, exception management, and dynamic decisioning across multiple delivery modes. When something goes wrong, like a driver running late or a shipment getting rerouted, the platform adjusts on the fly rather than waiting for a human to notice the problem.

Nvidia’s role is specifically in the GPU-accelerated models that handle uncertainty. Delivery logistics involves a staggering number of variables: traffic patterns, weather, driver availability, package fragility, customer time windows. Nvidia’s hardware lets OmniSTAR crunch those variables in parallel, producing routing and carrier decisions in seconds rather than minutes.

OneRail reports a 98.6% on-time SLA performance across its network. The company credits a hybrid model that pairs AI decisioning with human exception handlers for the cases where algorithms hit their limits.

## The company behind the platform

OneRail was founded around 2018 by CEO Bill Catania, whose origin story stems from personal frustration with bad delivery experiences. The company has since raised $42 million in venture funding and assembled a network of over 12 million drivers across more than 2,000 North American cities.

OneRail doesn’t operate its own fleet. Instead, it aggregates capacity from existing carriers and gig economy drivers, then uses its AI layer to match each delivery with the optimal provider.

In June 2026, OneRail expanded its partnership with Advance Auto Parts, and FedEx selected the company for its SameDay Local services. OneRail also earned its third consecutive recognition in Gartner’s Last Mile Delivery Technology Solutions Market Guide, announced in March 2026.
