A year on from incorporation, Libertas Software Research has moved from blank page to real clients, real products, and work worth marking. A year ago, Libertas Software Research Ltd was incorporated. At the time, it was little more than a name, a conviction, and a blank page. Today, it's a business with real clients, real products, and work I'm genuinely proud of. It feels right to pause and mark that. The idea behind Libertas has always been straightforward: too many organisations are sitting on data that could transform how they operate, but the tools to unlock it don't exist off the shelf. I exist to build those tools - custom software that fits the way a business actually works, not the other way around. What makes the work interesting is how it happens. I don't parachute in and hand over a deliverable. I work as part of the client's team - embedded, invested, and present for the whole journey from problem to solution. That approach hasn't changed. The first year has only deepened my belief in it. The early months were a lesson in patience and persistence. Building something from scratch means making decisions without a roadmap. There were no shortcuts. Then came the moments that made it real: landing my first client, and shipping software I could stand behind. Those two things, more than anything else, transformed Libertas from an ambition into a business. To the clients who trusted me early - thank you. You took a chance on a new company, and that mattered more than I can easily express. To everyone who offered advice, made introductions, or simply showed up with encouragement along the way - thank you too. A first year is rarely smooth, and those moments of support made a real difference. I'm heading into year two with more clarity, more capability, and a deeper understanding of the problems I'm here to solve. There's a lot I want to build. I'll share more in the months ahead.
