While the early success of LLMs gave companies the ability to drastically improve their chatbots, the dawn of AI agents has opened up a whole new world of productivity for enterprise AI users and created a very active category of startups.

[HappyRobot](https://www.happyrobot.ai/?ref=thestack.technology) is one of the newest unicorns in that space after it achieved a $1.2 billion valuation with its [$143 million Series C round](https://www.happyrobot.ai/blog/happyrobot-seriesc-fundraising-announcement?ref=thestack.technology) earlier this month. Since launching in 2022 with a focus on logistics, the Spanish-US startup has since expanded its platform for building AI agents to automate complex enterprise work across internal and external systems.

Co-founder and CEO Pablo Palafox sat down with *The Stack* to discuss that growth into new sectors, why the company is building its own voice AI models, and using forward-deployed engineers.
