Emergent is one of its most recent unicorns. Brothers Mukund and Madhav Jha, now CEO and CTO respectively, launched the company in 2024 with early support from Y Combinator. [Emergent](https://app.emergent.sh/landing/?ref=thestack.technology) has raised $230 million in total and is now valued at $1.5 billion, most recently closing a $130 million [Series C in July](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260715082819/en/Emergent-Raises-Series-C-at-%241.5B-Valuation-to-Help-Entrepreneurs-and-SMBs-Build-the-Software-Their-Businesses-Run-On?ref=thestack.technology). The platform includes an AI-powered website, app, and web app builder and has found success catering to a global market of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with more than 100,000 apps live in production and revenue split roughly evenly between North America, Europe, and the rest of the world.
