On theCUBE Pod: Nvidia steamrolls expectations as Mythos shakes up cybersecurity Nvidia Corp. reported another blockbuster quarter, beating revenue expectations, and announced an expanded collaboration with Cisco Systems Inc. on AI infrastructure, a reported $12.9 billion deal to acquire Hugging Face, and an investment in Perplexity. Analysts John Furrier and Dave Vellante of theCUBE Research discussed on theCUBE Pod how Nvidia's AI factory strategy is converging with networking, inference, agents, robotics, and security, while Salesforce Inc. crushed earnings expectations with its stock rising almost 23% Thursday, dispelling fears of a 'SaaSpocalypse'. On theCUBE Pod: Nvidia steamrolls expectations as Mythos shakes up cybersecurity Nvidia Corp. might as well be swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck. The artificial intelligence firm had yet another astounding quarter, beating expectations for revenue. With that announcement came a slew of reports https://siliconangle.com/2026/08/28/its-nvidias-world-we-just-live-in-it/ : Nvidia’s expanded collaboration with Cisco Systems Inc. on AI infrastructure, its reported $12.9 billion deal to acquire Hugging Face and another investment in Perplexity. “The AI build-out phase … it’s moved to execution and control,” said John Furrier https://www.linkedin.com/in/furrier/ pictured, left , research executive analyst for theCUBE Research. “Tokens equal profit. Nvidia remains at the center with their earnings. The story is getting much bigger than GPUs. AI factory, networking, inference, agents, robotics, software economics, security and political backlash are all converging.” On the latest episode of theCUBE Pod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIUa5xUAYS4 , Furrier and Dave Vellante https://www.linkedin.com/in/dvellante/ pictured, right , chief analyst for theCUBE Research, analyzed how Nvidia is shaping the AI ecosystem. They also discussed the impact of Anthropic PBC’s Claude Mythos on cybersecurity and why fears over the “SaaSpocalypse” have so far been overblown. Nvidia strengthens Cisco partnership Fresh off another blockbuster quarter, Nvidia is quick to funnel money back into investments and key partnerships, starting with Cisco https://siliconangle.com/2026/08/26/the-network-becomes-the-computer-as-cisco-and-nvidia-accelerate-ai-factory-rack-scale-cisconvidiaaifactory/ . The companies’ buildout of rack-scale AI factories combines Nvidia’s accelerated computing and Spectrum-X architecture with Cisco networking and enterprise operations. “The significance of that Cisco-Nvidia relationship is you’ve got all this sort of general purpose, enterprise IT infrastructure out there, and you’ve got this new thing called accelerated computing,” Vellante said. “They’re creating … a bridge to accelerated computing and Compute Unified Device Architecture . You’ve got trillions of value that’s installed with general purpose computing … it’s going to be absorbed by accelerated computing. And Cisco becomes, overnight, exceedingly relevant again.” The deal represents a shift from networking that connects computers to networking that creates the computer https://siliconangle.com/2026/08/26/the-network-becomes-the-computer-as-cisco-and-nvidia-accelerate-ai-factory-rack-scale-cisconvidiaaifactory/ by orchestrating thousands of graphics processing units. Nvidia will guide the expansion of a distributed AI system, Furrier predicts, as AI moves from enterprises to the edge. “The Cisco-Nvidia deal this week is evidence that rack-scale AI architecture is moving toward the enterprises,” Furrier said. “You got sovereign clouds and the neoclouds as service opportunities. And the enterprises can plug into CoreWeave, Nscale, very easily, they can go to Amazon. That’s distributed computing. There will be data centers in hospitals. There will be racks but they won’t be the monster racks. They’ll be 30 kilowatts.” SaaSpocalypse nowhere to be seen Despite Wall Street’s fears about AI triggering a “SaaSpocalypse,” Salesforce Inc. crushed earnings expectations, with its stock rising almost 23% Thursday. As theCUBE predicted earlier this year https://siliconangle.com/2026/03/02/thecube-pod-anthropic-ai-saaspocalypse-thecubepod/ , software-as-a-service companies aren’t disappearing, but their role is changing. “The simplistic rationale of that SaaSpocalypse narrative is dead,” Furrier said. “Infrastructure demand remains extraordinary while the incumbent enterprise software companies are beginning to demonstrate that AI can expand rather than simply destroy their business. Bad software always dies but it’s forcing software to become AI native while simultaneously creating an entirely new infrastructure stack.” AI model vendors are in desperate need of more data, which software companies can provide. They also enable a “system of intelligence,” as Furrier and Vellante put it, that will help AI vendors organize and connect the emerging AI enterprise. “The frontier models are … either going to acquire or partner or both with companies like Salesforce,” Vellante said. “Now, the question is, will they be able to, as Alex Karp says, steal their alpha? I believe they absolutely intend to do that with a Trojan horse strategy. But, of course, folks like Benioff and Ellison are no fools. But I really do believe this is the first step toward simplification of AI.” CrowdStrike earnings surge and Mythos has ‘ChatGPT moment’ Anthropic’s new AI model, Claude Mythos, sent shock waves through security operations since its release, demonstrating how quickly advanced AI can identify and exploit vulnerabilities. That disruption, however, has helped create a tailwind for CrowdStrike Holdings Inc., which delivered $333 million in net new ARR https://siliconangle.com/2026/08/29/crowdstrikes-post-mythos-surge-moat-momentum-and-the-blast-radius-test/ — $45 million above the high end of guidance. “We predicted that CrowdStrike would not only not lose, they would maintain and take more territory … and that’s what happened,” Vellante said. “They want ed to use Falcon Flex https://www.crowdstrike.com/en-us/pricing/falcon-flex/ to really drive new logos and new growth. The timing was perfect because they initiated this at their sales kick-off, earlier this year. Then what happened was the Microsoft event. And it was just a gift for companies like CrowdStrike who were consolidating.” Vellante highlights data from Qualitate, an AI-native primary data intelligence platform, that supports the view of Mythos as an inflection point. Furrier further describes Mythos as “ChatGPT moment” for security. In its wake, companies are scrambling to prepare for a new wave of cyberattacks, which have the potential to be even more dangerous when agents are involved. “It has been a call to arms,” Furrier said. “It highlights the state of the union of cybersecurity is not as healthy as everyone thought it would be. All you need to do is crack one spot and you’re in, and now you’ve got agents, which are like drones everywhere. Agents could go off the rails.” Here’s the full episode of this week’s theCUBE Pod: You can also listen to us on Apple Podcasts or on Spotify .
