OmniOutliner 6.3 adds Liquid Glass refinements, and OmniFocus and OmniOutliner gain a new API for searching the Omni Automation API as part of the company's work toward implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP).", "body_md": "Unsurprisingly, the Omni Group worked all summer to get its suite of apps ready for Apple’s 2027 system updates from day one. Here’s what’s new.\n\n## OmniGroup updates its suite of apps for Apple’s 2027 system releases\n\nAs the Omni Group’s CEO, Ken Case shared in a fun blog post titled “[Hey Siri, We’re Ready!](https://www.omnigroup.com/blog/ready-for-os-27)” the teams behind OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, OmniPlan, and OmniFocus worked hard to get all of the company’s apps “ready for all of Apple’s platform updates, compatible universally across the board.”\n\nHere’s Case:\n\nThis is no small juggling act, with [OmniGraffle](https://www.omnigroup.com/omnigraffle) supporting three platforms, [OmniOutliner](https://www.omnigroup.com/omnioutliner) and [OmniPlan](https://www.omnigroup.com/omniplan) supporting four platforms, and [OmniFocus](https://www.omnigroup.com/omnifocus) supporting five platforms—especially while we’re simultaneously pushing forward on new major features of our own for each product.\n\nChief among the updates is OmniFocus 4.9, which is fully compatible with [macOS 27 Golden Gate](https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/14/macos-27-golden-gate-now-available-here-is-everything-new/), [iOS 27](https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/14/ios-27-now-available-features-compatible-iphones/), [iPadOS 27](https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/14/apple-releases-ipados-27-heres-whats-new-for-ipad/), [watchOS 27](https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/14/watchos-27-now-available-for-apple-watch-heres-whats-new/), and [visionOS 27](https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/14/visionos-27-is-here-for-apple-vision-pro-with-these-new-features/). That includes Siri AI support, optional Apple Intelligence-powered date parsing, “a range of new and updated App Intents exposed as Shortcuts actions,” and design refinements to better match Apple’s 2027 system updates.\n\nOmniFocus users can now ask Siri to assign and edit due dates, flags, notes, and even repeat schedules. The app can also take advantage of broader Siri AI capabilities, such as onscreen awareness and Visual Intelligence, to help users get things into OmniFocus more quickly:\n\nFor example, you can pick up a note with hand-written action items and ask Siri to add those items to OmniFocus. Or you can take a picture of a whiteboard and ask Siri to do things with that input.\n\nSiri AI can now also leverage the user’s personal context, which in practice means it can answer questions based on the user’s OmniFocus database, summarize actions, suggest items to work on, turn follow-up items from meeting notes into reminders, and more.\n\nOther tidbits from the Omni Group’s round of updates this week include:\n\n- OmniOutliner 6.3 has also been updated with Liquid Glass refinements across Apple’s platforms.\n- OmniFocus and OmniOutliner now include a new API that lets users and tools search the Omni Automation API, which should make it easier to pull up the documentation needed to write scripts.\n- The Omni Group says that work is also part of its effort toward implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP).\n\nFinally, Case also noted that, following last week’s iPhone Duo announcement, the team is already working to get its apps ready for the foldable’s launch.\n\nTo read Case’s full blog post, [follow this link](https://www.omnigroup.com/blog/ready-for-os-27).\n\n#### Worth checking out on Amazon\n\n*FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links.* [More.](https://9to5mac.com/about/#affiliate)\n\n[our homepage](http://9to5mac.com/)for all the latest news, and follow 9to5Mac on\n\n[exclusive stories](https://9to5mac.com/feature/exclusive/),\n\n[reviews](https://9to5mac.com/guides/review/),\n\n[how-tos](https://9to5mac.com/guides/how-to/), and\n\n[subscribe to our YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/9to5mac)", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos", "canonical_source": "https://9to5mac.com/2026/09/15/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos-27-more/", "published_at": "2026-09-15 23:22:20+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-09-15 23:38:20.486553+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-products", "ai-agents", "ai-tools"], "entities": ["The Omni Group", "OmniFocus 4.9", "Ken Case", "Siri", "Apple Intelligence", "OmniOutliner 6.3", "Model Context Protocol", "Apple"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/omnifocus-adds-siri-ai-support-as-omni-group-updates-its-apps-for-ios-27-macos.jsonld"}}
