Nvidia moves open security alliance to Linux Foundation

Nvidia has transferred its Open Secure AI Alliance to the Linux Foundation, just over a month after launching the initiative to address security challenges in open source AI software. The alliance, which includes Microsoft, Hugging Face, and Mistral but not OpenAI or Anthropic, will now operate under the Linux Foundation's neutral governance to accelerate development of a shared, open security stack for AI. The move follows Nvidia's failure to recruit the two top AI labs, with Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei citing concerns about weaponisation of open-weight models.
