Nvidia’s public disclosures point to several overlapping activities rather than a formally announced Nordic marketplace. In June, Nvidia finance chief Colette Kress said the company had been matchmaking customers as they sought land, electricity and data-center capacity, according to coverage of her remarks at a Bank of America technology conference. Nvidia also promotes an AI Factory model that combines GPUs, CPUs, networking, software and facility designs. Its listed colocation ecosystem includes Nordic providers, while Telenor’s Norway AI Factory uses Nvidia-accelerated computing for enterprise and public-sector workloads. [7][8]

That does not mean Nvidia is the operator or grid developer. The customer, data-center company and lenders still have to arrange construction, interconnection, power contracts and project economics. Nvidia’s public materials do not disclose a Nordic-wide capacity reservation, customer-utilization guarantee or commitment to underwrite the projects described in the CNBC report. [7][9]

Large campuses, different stages of development #

AtNorth says it has a landbank representing several gigawatts of potential power capacity across the five Nordic countries. Its planned sites include a 500-megawatt campus in Varde, Denmark; a 430-megawatt site in Finland; a 300-megawatt campus in Sollefteå, Sweden; and a Norwegian site designed to ramp from 120 megawatts to 350 megawatts. Those figures are site or campus plans, not installed Nvidia compute. AtNorth says the Sweden project is designed for high-density workloads and renewable power, while the Denmark campus is intended to support direct liquid cooling and heat reuse. [10][11]

Nscale is developing an AI campus in Narvik, Norway. The company announced $790 million in financing commitments from ABN AMRO, DNB, Export Finance Norway, Nordea and SEB, including an uncommitted accordion facility for a further 115 megawatts. Nscale said the financing followed a $2 billion Series C round and a $1.4 billion delayed-draw term loan announced earlier in 2026. [3]

Bitdeer, which describes itself as an Nvidia Cloud Partner, separately announced a 16-year colocation lease and services agreement for its Tydal, Norway campus. Bitdeer valued the arrangement at $4.7 billion and identified Volta Tydal as the facility provider. The announcement does not disclose the project’s customer mix, contracted power price or Nvidia GPU count. [4]

Power is an advantage, not a guarantee #

Nordic power economics vary by country and bidding zone. Fortum reported second-quarter 2026 average spot prices of €49.3 per megawatt-hour in Finland and €38.0 per megawatt-hour in Sweden’s SE2 region, compared with €95.2 per megawatt-hour in Germany. The average Nordic system price was €68.2 per megawatt-hour. These are wholesale averages, not all-in data-center tariffs or project-specific power-purchase-agreement prices. [12]

Operators also cite hydropower, wind generation, cool weather and lower cooling requirements. AtNorth reported that 99% of its 2025 electricity consumption came from renewable sources and that its average power usage effectiveness was 1.21. [13]

The grid remains a harder constraint. Energinet said in March that about 60 gigawatts of new consumption was waiting in connection queues, compared with Denmark’s roughly 7-gigawatt peak demand. The operator introduced a temporary and stricter maturity requirements for new connections while it prioritized projects that were further along or made better use of the network. [5][14]

That is the practical limit on the region’s pitch. A customer may have financing and access to Nvidia systems yet still lack firm power, transmission capacity or a construction schedule. In this market, “available capacity” can mean a site with a path to power—not an operating facility ready to accept servers.
