Nvidia connects GPU companies with data center operators in the Nordics Nvidia is certifying Nordic data center operators through its DGX-Ready Colocation Data Center program, turning the region into a hub for AI infrastructure powered by renewable energy and cold climates. Certified operators include atNorth, Bulk Data Centers, and Borealis Data Center, with major deployments such as Crusoe's expansion at atNorth's ICE02 facility in Iceland featuring Nvidia DGX GB200 NVL72 systems and Blackwell GPUs, and the OpenAI-backed Stargate project planning 100,000 Nvidia GPUs in Norway by end of 2026. Via dwglogo.com Nvidia connects GPU companies with data center operators in the Nordics The chipmaker's DGX-Ready program is turning Scandinavia and Iceland into a hub for AI infrastructure, powered by renewable energy and cold air Nvidia is playing matchmaker between companies hungry for GPU capacity and the Nordic data center operators that can actually house the hardware. Through its DGX-Ready Colocation Data Center program, the chipmaker is certifying facilities across the region to handle its most demanding AI infrastructure. The certified Nordic operators include atNorth, Bulk Data Centers, and Borealis Data Center, all of which have met Nvidia’s specifications for deploying DGX systems optimized for high-performance AI workloads. These facilities run on 100% renewable energy, sit in climates where ambient temperatures keep cooling demands low, and offer operational costs that make warmer alternatives look expensive by comparison. Why the Nordics keep winning the data center location debate Iceland offers geothermal power. Norway and Sweden contribute abundant hydroelectric capacity. And ambient temperatures across the region stay low enough year-round that cooling systems don’t have to work nearly as hard as they do in warmer climates. Nvidia’s DGX-Ready certification validates that participating facilities are equipped for liquid cooling, have undergone component validation, and maintain ecosystem support designed to eliminate infrastructure delays when companies show up ready to deploy. Major deployments already taking shape Crusoe partnered with atNorth in August 2025 to expand capacity at the ICE02 facility in Iceland. The expansion features Nvidia’s DGX GB200 NVL72 systems alongside Blackwell GPUs. The OpenAI-backed Stargate project has set its sights on Norway with plans to deploy 100,000 Nvidia GPUs by the end of 2026. The Verne and nScale collaboration aims to build Europe’s largest liquid-cooled AI GPU installation in Iceland, deploying approximately 4,600 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs, with operations expected through 2026.
