Anyscale said its platform will continue running across all major cloud providers after closing, while customers will gain the option to use Nscale capacity. Portability across clouds, on-premises systems and different accelerators remains part of the product roadmap. Its developers are also optimizing reinforcement-learning, multimodal-data and video workloads, while a new Ray Data engine is scheduled for version 2.57. The acquisition agreement does not change the foundation’s governance of Ray, but customers will still need to watch how Nscale allocates engineering resources after closing.\n\n## Nscale moves further above GPU rental\n\nThe acquisition fits Nscale’s effort to control more of the AI computing chain. The company announced a $2 billion Series C in March at a $14.6 billion valuation, backed by investors including Aker, 8090 Industries, Nvidia, Dell, Nokia, Point72 and Lenovo. Nscale said that capital would support infrastructure and orchestration software across Europe, North America and Asia. [9] Its planned projects include providing Microsoft with more than 66,000 Nvidia Rubin GPUs at Portugal’s Sines campus beginning in late 2027.
