It also has to be:\n\n- trustworthy enough to hold your real thinking\n- searchable enough to be useful later\n- accessible enough that both you and your AI tools can work from it\n\nThat is what led us to build Nowledge Mem.\n\n## Introducing Nowledge Mem\n\nNowledge Mem is a local-first, graph-augmented personal context manager.\n\nIt is a place where your decisions, insights, conversations, files, and evolving understanding can accumulate outside any single AI tool.\n\n## Why It Is Local First\n\nYour day-to-day thinking should live somewhere you can trust.\n\nFor us, that means local by default. Your knowledge is stored and processed on your own machine. If you choose to use a remote LLM, that is an explicit decision, not the baseline.\n\nLocal-first is not just an ideology. It is practical. Many users want privacy. Some need offline or controlled environments. And all of us deserve a memory system that is not locked inside a third-party product.\n\n## Why It Is Graph Augmented\n\nSaving information is not enough. A useful memory system also has to help you make sense of what you saved.\n\nThat means solving three different problems:\n\n- finding the right thing later\n- seeing how different pieces relate\n- understanding the larger picture that emerges over time\n\nNowledge Mem uses a knowledge graph to connect memories, entities, and source material, then uses graph-based retrieval and analysis to help surface relevant context when you need it.\n\nThe result is not just a searchable archive. It is a memory layer that can connect the dots for both humans and AI tools.\n\n## How It Works Today\n\nThe first version of Nowledge Mem is a native desktop app.\n\n### Inside Your AI Tools\n\nYou can connect Mem to tools like Claude Code, Cursor, ChatWise, and other MCP-capable clients so agents can search or save memories while they work.\n\nThat can happen because you explicitly ask for it, or because the connected agent recognizes that your past context is relevant to the task at hand.\n\n### From Anywhere on Your Desktop\n\nSometimes you do not want an agent to decide for you. You just want to pull something back into your current workflow quickly.\n\nNowledge Mem includes a launcher. Press `⌘` + `⇧` + `K`, search your memories, and paste the result into whatever you are doing.\n\n### Through the Graph\n\nSome context is best understood as a network, not a list.\n\nIn graph view, you can:\n\n- start from a memory or entity and inspect its local neighborhood\n- expand nearby nodes to pull in more context\n- cherry-pick the pieces you want to reuse\n\n## What Comes Next\n\nNowledge Mem was created to give your knowledge a home that is not tied to any single model, agent, or interface.\n\nWhen this post first went out, Mem was invite-only.
