Meta announced the expansion of its AI content licensing program on December 5, 2025, bringing on a diverse group of publishers to supply data for Meta AI. Newsmax is one of several outlets that signed on, alongside CNN, Fox News, Le Monde Group, People Inc., USA TODAY, The Daily Caller, and the Washington Examiner.
Publishers license their content to Meta, which uses it to train and inform its AI systems. When users ask Meta AI questions about news, current events, entertainment, or lifestyle topics, the AI draws from these licensed sources to generate responses. Meta AI links back to the original articles, theoretically driving traffic to the publishers.
