Just like it’s hard to tell whether something’s AI these days, it can also be challenging to know if someone is being serious, like one particular Trump-supporting candidate in New York, Anthony Constantino. In a post shared by Donnyskipper on r/upstate_new_york and other subreddits, Constantino can be seen in a flier promoting male circumcision. Truly, it’s a unique take for one’s campaign, one that many might even find funny. Many of those reacting to the post on Reddit, however, did not.
“Genuinely cannot tell if this is satire. This guy is such a bozo,” remarked a commenter. “One cannot still be a Republican and be a serious person these days,” aggressively wrote another. “They’re either not paying attention, they’re horrible people, or they buy into the fear mongering.” Anthony Constantino won the Republican nomination in NY-21 last month, which a few point out in the comments.
Unfortunately, on Reddit, many feel as though Constantino is the “worst possible choice.” One person in r/Albany called the Republican candidate “one of the genuinely dumbest human beings to ever run for office.” Quite a few were confused as to the point of “pro-circumcision” as a focus. “Like, this has to be mocking him, right? So many nut jobs out there I can barely tell anymore,” sighed another user.
The New York Local Says He Received Another Flier Promoting Anthony Constantino
The flier about Constantino pushing for male circumcision wasn’t the only one Donnyskipper claimed to have received. In a post on r/LateStageCapitalism, he also shows a flier for Anthony Constantino, this time promoting robot-powered farming. In the comment section of this post, a few were still unsure whether this was a joke: “I…is this supposed to make people want to vote for this clown?”
On the other hand, one person claims that the fliers are actually made by people opposing Constantino and attempting to make a mockery of him. If that was indeed the goal, it was certainly clever and successful, as countless have now mocked the GOP candidate across Reddit.
