# New Mac Studio Can Be Clustered Together for Faster AI Performance

Multiple [new Mac Studio](https://www.macrumors.com/2026/08/25/apple-announces-new-mac-studio-with-m5-ultra-chip/) units can be clustered together over Thunderbolt 5 and RDMA (remote direct memory access), creating a shared memory pool for running larger AI models.

If four [Mac Studio](https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/mac-studio/) systems are clustered together, Apple says they can deliver 3x faster AI inference than running the same task on a single system, with the shared memory pool helping to load the largest and most demanding frontier-class open-weight models available today.
