New AirPods leak reveals built-in cameras and Visual Intelligence

A file believed to be a promotional video for AirPods with a camera has been leaked.

The camera is not intended for humans to view footage, but rather to enable AI to analyse the surrounding environment.

However, as with smart glasses, privacy concerns have been raised. There is a possibility that camera data could be inadvertently sent to the manufacturer. Furthermore, individuals intent on covert filming could find a way to extract the camera data.

Convenient ‘spy gadgets’ such as smart glasses, watches, earbuds and Wi-Fi imaging are becoming increasingly available, yet no truly effective privacy measures have yet emerged.
