National Life Group CISO expects more vulnerabilities in six months than in thirty years

Becky Palmer, VP and CISO at National Life Group, said in an interview with Help Net Security that the pace of AI-driven cyber threats will produce more vulnerabilities in the next six months than in the past thirty years. She noted that traditional patch cycles built for human speed cannot keep up, and that compensating controls are needed to buy time when immediate fixes are unavailable. Palmer also reported that agentic AI in the security operations center closes four out of five cases without human escalation.
