I’ve been looking at Mintlify alternatives for documenting AI and inference APIs, and one problem keeps coming up: keeping documentation accurate when models and API schemas change frequently.
For a traditional REST API, an OpenAPI specification can usually describe the API contract quite clearly. AI APIs can be more complicated.
Different models may have different parameters, input formats, output structures, and inference options. As those models evolve, keeping the documentation synchronized becomes another challenge.

Apidog is one option I’ve been evaluating because it combines API design, OpenAPI documentation, testing, mocking, and collaboration in a single workflow.
For AI APIs, I find this approach interesting because documentation changes can be considered alongside API validation and testing rather than being maintained as a completely separate task. I’m curious how other developers building inference APIs handle this.
