If security teams thought Patch Tuesdays were already getting unwieldy, with more than 200 vulnerabilities included last month, Microsoft is warning that blue teamers are about to get a lot busier, thanks to AI. In a blog post shared July 9, Redmond's Windows EVP Pavan Davuluri was "expanding its ability" to identify vulnerabilities earlier by using AI tools, including its multi-model agentic scanning harness (MDASH) and "third-party" models.
He said customers will "see a higher volume of security updates" going forward after Microsoft set up dedicated cloud infrastructure for running MDASH "at Windows scale".
"Windows is evolving our engineering and validation systems to reduce the time from discovery to protection, with areas where customer risk is greatest."
