Originally launched in October last year as a United States-exclusive feature, Microsoft has recently announced further global support for its friendly-faced Mico companion, which aims to push Copilot’s design as a “Human-centered AI”. The emotive companion is now available in 40 countries around the world, including Canada, the UK, much of Europe, and beyond.
Before Mico (a shortening of Microsoft Copilot) got its name, Microsoft brought the friendly face to Copilot for select users in July 2025, retaining the same gooey morph look to this day. Previous discussions around ‘Copilot Appreances’ earlier in the same year hinted at a Clippy companion, though this is now just limited to an easter egg you can perform with Mico.

Mico, which spawned in as a sort of sentient fire ember (based on Microsoft’s original trailer, if for some reason you care about Mico lore), has now been rolled out to a total of 40 countries. According to a post on its official Discord server, Microsoft is “continuing to expand availability over time,” but for now, here’s how the full list looks.

In one of its latest Community Updates, Microsoft notes a few major plans happening in 2026. First off, Copilot Health is now available in beta, marketing as a trustworthy source of medical data and “helpful health companion”.
One of the biggest launches of the year will be the Copilot Super App, due in summer 2026. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the new super app is “going to have Chat, Cowork, and Code all in Copilot”. We imagine Mico will be included as part of the chatbot component once the app rolls out in the coming months.
